JS&A conducted a comprehensive economic and fiscal impact analysis of Atlanta’s nightlife economy, evaluating the collective contributions of restaurants, bars, clubs, and cultural venues to direct spending, employment, tax revenue, and total economic output, and benchmarking these impacts against broader citywide indicators to demonstrate nightlife’s significance to Atlanta’s overall economy. In partnership with Purpose Possible, the team led an inclusive stakeholder engagement process that included sector-specific business focus groups, a nightlife workforce focus group, one-on-one expert interviews, business owner surveys, and a consumer sentiment survey of nightlife patrons. JS&A also produced industry snapshots highlighting the broader nightlife ecosystem, from beauty and personal services to recording studios, performing arts, and adult entertainment. Working closely with the Mayor’s Office of Film, Entertainment, and Nightlife, JS&A translated these insights into a set of actionable strategies and an Implementation Matrix that prioritizes concrete steps to support long-term economic success, ultimately compiling the findings into a clear, accessible report for public- and private-sector stakeholders.
